WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM THIS IS-003 FIXED TELEHANDLER TRAINING?
For the IS-003 fixed telehandler diploma, Praxis is the right place for you!
There are different types of telehandlers, which can perform different functions as well.
With "a fixed telehandler", the cabin and the telescopic arm are permanently connected to the substructure.
Virtually all telehandlers are equipped with front steering, four-wheel steering and crab steering.
Telehandlers can be provided without, with 2, or with 4 stamps, which will affect stability and lifting capacity significantly and where an appropriate loading diagram must be used.
The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical and port industries.
It can take place on your location or in one of our partner centers in Flanders.
The amount of days of training depends on your experience and competences.
If you pass, then you will receive the official IS-003 diploma!
In case your sector or your customer does not require this specific diploma, take our standard telehandler training or our telehandler competency test.
The aim of this training is to work efficiently and safely with the telehandler.
ADMISSION CONDITIONS
- Experience or no experience? Every telehandler operator is welcome in this training!
- Being at least 18 years old
- Identification possible on the basis of an identity card, passport or driving license
- Possession of a medical fitness certificate
- The participant masters the language of the exams

TARGET AUDIENCE
Employees who have to work with a fixed telehandler on company premises, in installations, workshops and warehouses. Where the tasks have a certain level of difficulty such as:
- Stacking at a distance and in height
- Driving and stacking in a limited space
- Under time pressure
- Near important installations
- Intensive loading and unloading of truck
- In places with traffic of persons and/or other traffic resources
For employees who work in the (petro)chemical industry, this exam must be taken in a recognized center.
TARGET
Learning to use a telehandler in an effective and safe way:
- Moving around in an industrial environment
- Loads to be taken up in height and/or distance
- Moving loads safely and effectively
- Dropping off loads in height and/or distance
- Loading and unloading a truck safely and efficiently

- Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA IS-003 diploma: fixed telehandler
- The diploma is personal-related and indicates the high-risk task the participant has passed.
- The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma.
THEORY TEST TERMS
The candidate can:
- Explain what a telehandler is and know the different applications (rigid and rotating with lifting function and as an aerial platform)
- Name the activities for which a telehandler can be used
- Recognise elated means of horizontal and vertical transport
- Name tools for horizontal and vertical transport and handling of special loads
- Recognise different types of palettes and storage methods
- Explain important concepts related to the construction of the telehandler
- Correctly explain basic rules for using a telehandler
- Correctly explain the safety rules and the traffic rules
- List the factors that can affect stability
- Explain a loading diagram
- Name the parts of the starting control
- Perform a last minute risk analysis (LMRA)
PRACTICAL TEST TERMS
- Carry out the take-off check (checklist)
- Performing a slalom forward and backward, with 4 wheel steering
- Driving forwards and backwards through a narrow passage
- Picking up, moving and depositing of high loads
- Various loads at a drop-off point in the height
- Moving long load, minimum 4 m, when moving from at height and distance to a place on the ground at a distance, or vice versa, in a limited space
- Parking of telehandler in the designated place
